As a result, the force of the spring 16 is reduced to improve an inserting feel since the energy of the spring 16 is not used for ejection of the cassette. Furthermore, the cassette can be ejected assuredly even though the cassette is vertical.

The reference frequency is set up to the intermediate value of the frequency of the output signal (b) outputted in accordance with the loaded status of the cassette tape. When frequency of the measured output signal (b) is higher than that of the reference value, the unloaded state of the cassette tape is discrminated.
