SOLUTION: A migration destination storage 10 reads out data to be migrated by unit data from a migration source storage 20, calculates a check sum which is a hash value from the read unit data and stores the calculated check sum and the unit data in a cache memory 15. The migration destination storage 10 reads out the unit data from the cache memory 15, calculates the check sum, stores the calculated check sum in the cache memory 15, and stores the read unit data in a hard disk device group 16. After completing data migration, total values of the check sums each calculated in reading and writing are determined, and the total values are compared to confirm whether the data have been properly migrated or not.
