The test signal may be a chirp signal that is a linearly swept sine wave that spans between the user-configurable start frequency and the user-configurable stop frequency.

摘要： PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device and a method for indicating a rendered waveform and a marker on a display without obscuring both of their images.
SOLUTION: This display method enables depicting of both the rendered waveform and the marker so as to provide an user of a measuring instrument or a system with visibility for those marker and rendered waveform, even if both of them are redundant in the viewing area. In the method, a series of contour lines on the display are used to form the marker. The series of contour lines in the position on the display where the rendered waveform does not overlap the contour lines are classified, to interleave the indicating elements of the display within the contour lines at the location where the rendered waveform overlaps the contour lines. As an alternative method, displaying is provided by a system containing a display and a driver for depicting the rendered waveform and the marker.
