      SOLUTION: This heat storage engine comprises a vibration generator 1 assigning pressure vibration to the working fluid, a cold storage 24, a cold head 25, and the pulse pipe 26, which are connected in this order, a freezing generation part 2 having one end connected to the vibration generator 1, and a phase adjustment means 3 connected to the other end of the freezing generation part 2 and adjusting the phase of pressure vibration of the working fluid. The vibration generator 1 includes a cylinder 11 including a major diameter part forming a first compressing operation space 111 in the inner part and a minor diameter part forming a second compressing operation space 112 in the inner part, and a piston 12 including a first step part 121 stored in the minor diameter part and a second step part 122 stored in the major diameter part. One of the first and second compressing operation spaces 111 and 112 is connected to one end of the freezing generation part 2, and the other of the operation spaces 111 and 112 is connected to the other end of the freezing generation part 2 through the phase adjusting means 3.
