    • PURPOSE:To facilitate and easure filling of a hydraulic buffer with gas, by a method wherein the buffer is filled with high-pressure gas by the use of a rod guide threadedly engaged with the one end side of a cylinder. CONSTITUTION:The mounting metal 7 side of a piston rod 2 is inserted in the interior of a closed cover body 8, and the top part of the rod guide 6 is secured by means of a fixing jig 10 attached to the closed cover body 8. The closed cover body 8 is removably airtightly engaged with the outer periphery of a cylinder 1 through an O-ring, and the rod guide 6 is temporarily locked to the cylinder 1 so that they are prevented from being airtightly locked to each other. With this, high-pressure gas is introduced to the closed cover body 8, and after filling with a given amount of the gas is completed, the rod guide 6 is threadely engaged with the inner periphery of the cylinder 1 and is airtightly secured thereto by means of a seal material 3.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hydraulic shock absorber and a working liquid injection method to the hydraulic shock absorber capable of facilitating injection of working liquid into a cylinder after assembling the cylinder to a shock absorber main body, even in the upright type hydraulic shock absorber.SOLUTION: A hydraulic shock absorber D includes: a cylinder 3 which is interposed between a car body and a wheel, and is connected to the wheel side; a liquid chamber P which is formed in the cylinder 3 and is filled with working liquid; an annular rod guide 30 which is fastened to the cylinder 3 and blocks the car body side of the liquid chamber P; a piston rod 4 which is connected to the car body side, penetrates an axial center part of the rod guide 30 and moves in and out of the cylinder 3; a piston 6 which is retained to the piston rod 4 and divides the liquid chamber P into an extension side chamber p1 and a pressure side chamber p2; and an annular bush B3 which is fitted to the inner circumference of the rod guide 30 and pivotally supports the piston rod 4 freely movably in the axial direction. Therein, the piston rod 4 includes a columnar sliding shaft part 4e which comes into sliding contact with the bush B3 and a first injection part 4d for injecting working liquid disposed besides a damper stroke range A on the counter-piston side of the sliding shaft part 4e.
