    • PURPOSE:To aim at mass production and reduce cost of production, by independently manufacturing a spiral member and an end mother plate, and forming a spiral groove on a plate member, which are bonded to the spiral member and the end mother plate by a bonding method such as copper soldering, by plastic working such as press working in a short time. CONSTITUTION:A spiral member 100 is formed independently of an end mother plate 101. A plate member 102 having relatively small thickness is formed with a spiral groove 103 by press working to the extent that the groove may pass through the plate member. The spiral groove 103 is formed in a shape corresponding with that of the spiral member 100. The end mother plate 101 is provided with a bearing boss 104. The spiral member 100 is previously inserted into the spiral groove 103 of the plate member 102 and is bonded thereto by copper soldering, etc. Then, the end mother plate 101 is bonded to a rear surface 105 of the plate member 102 by copper soldering, etc. In this manner, as the spiral groove 103 is worked in a short time by press working, etc., mass production and reduction of production cost are possible.

Preferably, the straightening member 30 is formed so that, in a plane including a section of the pier as viewed in a lateral direction of the draft tube, an angle formed between the upstream end of the pier and an upper surface of the straightening member is 90 degrees or larger and that when the maximum thickness of the pier is represented as D, a length from the draft tube inner wall to the surface of the straightening member as measured along the upstream end of the pier is 0.1D or longer.
