    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make an injection amount controllable at a high degree of accuracy by suppressing the pressure pulsation of fuel exhausted from a control chamber in a fuel injection valve whose nozzle needle is driven by a change in control chamber pressure. SOLUTION: An extended hole 404 of a housing 40 is extended to a valve spring 37 side farther than an end face 405 of a housing shoulder. By shortening a length of a coupling hole 403 of the housing being the smallest diametrical portion inside the housing 40, an influence caused by narrowing the coupling hole 403 of the housing is reduced to decrease the pressure pulsation at the upstream side of the coupling hole 403 of the housing in an effluent pathway. As a result, the variation attributable to the influence of the pressure pulsation of a moving velocity in the direction of closing the valve of an armature 34 is curbed, thus making the injection amount controllable at a high degree of accuracy.     • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fuel injection device capable of reducing the outflow amount of fuel to the outside.
      SOLUTION: This fuel injection device 1 comprises a nozzle body 40, an injection control valve 20, and a closing assist piston 30. A first fuel storage chamber 41 and a needle valve closing chamber 43 are formed in the nozzle body 40. The fuel control valve 20 allows a first fuel passage 51 to communicate with the first fuel storage chamber 41 and cuts the first fuel storage chamber 41 off a third fuel passage 53 by moving forward to the first position, and cuts the first fuel passage 51 off the first fuel storage chamber 41 and allows the first fuel storage chamber 41 to communicate with the third fuel passage 53 by moving backward to the second position. The closing assist piston 30 suppresses the outflow of the fuel in the first fuel storage chamber 41 to the outside of the fuel injection device 1 through the third fuel passage 53, the needle valve closing chamber 43, and a fourth fuel passage 54 when the injection control valve 20 is moved from the first position to the second position.
