    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide steel cord producible using a strander enabling reduced production cost, and having a combination of excellent fatigue resistance and damping properties, and to provide a method for producing the same. SOLUTION: The steel cord comprises n-core wires assembled without being stranded with each other and m-side wires each having a diameter substantially the same as that of the core wire, stranded with each other so as to be wrapped around the core wires. In the steel cord, the core wires and the side wires exist respectively inside a circumscribed cylinder with a diameter D defined by formulation: D=d[3+1/cosäπ/2(1-2/m)}] and the center of the steel cord nearly coincides with the axis of the circumscribed cylinder along the longitudinal direction of the steel cord.     • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To produce a steel cord having (1+m+n) structure for improving rubber-intruding property inexpensively by the stranding process of one time.
      SOLUTION: This method for producing the steel cord is provided by using a buncher type stranding machine 10 equipped with turn rollers 11, 12 and 13, 14 imparting strand to a filament bundle and having two loops 16, 17 rotating by centering around the same rotary axis, arranging m-pieces of inner sheath filaments around 1 core filament 2, stranding (1+m)-structured inner sheath 4 on a first loop 16, then arranging n-pieces of filaments 3 constituting an outer sheath 6 around the inner sheath 4 and stranding the (1+m+m)-structured steel cord 1 so that the outer sheath 6 becomes in the same direction of the stranding direction of the inner sheath 4 on a second loop 17.
