    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To accurately control a brake fluid pressure for an automatic braking without relying upon the braking operation of a driver, and improve a braking feeling when the driver performs the braking operation during the automatic braking. SOLUTION: In this brake device, a slave cylinder 23 for generating a brake fluid pressure by forwardly driving pistons 38A, 38B by the drive force of an electric motor 52 which is operated with electric signals according to the braking operation of the driver is disposed between a master cylinder 11 and wheel cylinders 16, 17; 20, 21. Only when an automatic braking is performed without relying upon the braking operation of the driver, the electric motor 52 of the slave cylinder 23 is operated.
