    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To correctly detect electric discharge when performing electric discharge machining by minimal machining energy such as for finishing.
SOLUTION: ON/OFF of a switching element is repeated, voltage is intermittently impressed between a tool electrode 1 and an electrode of a workpiece 2, stray capacity between the electrodes is charged, and electric discharge is generated between the electrodes by the charging voltage, to perform the machining. Electric discharge of the electric discharge machining is detected by the fine machining energy. Current between electrodes is determined by integrating an output of a sensor coil 3 by an integrator 4. An offset component superimposed on the output of the integrator 4 is extracted by a low-pass filter 5. The offset component is removed from the output of the integrator 4 by a differential amplifier 6. An output of the differential amplifier 6 is compared with a reference value by a comparator 7 to detect electric discharge. In also the machining by the fine electric discharge energy, electric discharge can be exactly detected.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for monitoring a processing operation in an electrolytic corrosion assembly (100) having an electric power source (20) and an electrode (10) arranged so as to separate from a workpiece (14) by a clearance (12). SOLUTION: The method includes a step for measuring the voltage at a certain point on a voltage wave after a time lag t d which is half of the pulse width of the voltage wave. A plurality of voltage values are achieved by repeating the measurement for a plurality of pulses of the voltage wave. These voltage values correspond to the certain points on the respective pulses respectively. A mean voltage is achieved by averaging these voltage values. Then, whether the processing operation is being controlled or not is judged by comparing the mean voltage with at least one threshold voltage value. When the compared result shows that the processing operation is not controlled, a control signal is generated so as to adjust operating parameters of the electric power source. When the control signal has been generated, the control signal is output to the electric power source. COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI

    • PURPOSE:To make the occurrence of abnormal discharge preventable, by detecting a time distribution state from voltage impression to the generation of discharge, and discriminating between normal discharge and abnormal one on the basis of the detected result, while spouting an optimum machining solution onto a gap between poles so as to restore the abnormal discharge to normalness. CONSTITUTION:A reversible counter 67 counts the number of generation being judged as a state of being abnormal by time distribution ranging from voltage impressing to discharge generating and give notice of anything unusual via a DA converter 112. In addition, according to the details of the counter 67, the counter 67 opens each of valves V1-V4 corresponding to counting values 2 -2 and feeds a gap between poles with a machining solution flow of 100, 200, 400 and 800cc/min each by way of a spouting passage 118 of a machining electrode 10, and when the counting value is more than a range of 2 , it opens a forced jet valve V5 via an OR circuit 19 and gives a liquid flow of several thousands cc/min, but when the value is below 2 , it gives a minute flow with a manual valve V0. Thus discharge of sludge if efficiently performable so that discharge efficiency can be improved.

    • PURPOSE:To prevent generation of abnormal arc discharge by detecting the shock waves generated in a working gap during electric discharge and discriminating the working state according to the magnitude of the shock wave and controlling the standard voltage in electrode servo feeding. CONSTITUTION:The shock wave generated during electric discharge in a working gap in electric discharge work is large in normal electric discharge and is small in abnormal arc diacharge. The detection signal for the shock wave by a sensor 35 and the detection signal for the discharge current by a current detector CT are inputted into a discriminating circuit 40, and abnormal arc discharge is detected, and the number of generation in continuation is counted. When the number of generation in continuation reaches a prescribed value, the working state is judged abnormal, and a control signal is outputted so as to increase the standard voltage Vr in electrode servo feed. Accordingly, the length of working gap is increased, and abnormal arc discharge is eliminated.

CONSTITUTION:Sensing signal 19 from a P wave sensor 18 which senses incipient tremor of the earthquake is given as input to a conditional circuit 20 to be connected to an operating circuit 15 and to a servo control circuit 14. Provided that P wave is sensed, a switch 22 on the switch circuit 21 is put to be in the condition as shown in the figure, and a power circuit 13 is turned OFF. Output is produced from the conditional circuit 20 by means of transfer of the switch 22 to the state as shown in the figure together with the sensing signal 19 from the P wave, and it is given as input to the servo circuit 14. The servo circuit 14 controls a servo 24 in the reverse direction extraneously to the fact that potential difference has turned out to be zero between signal lines 23a and 23b, and a spindle is sent up. And, it is brought to be stopped in the condition that it is sent up just for the determined distance.
