    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a reactor excellent in the reaction efficiency of reforming reaction, capable of producing a large amount of a reformed gas, capable of reducing power consumption and capable of also extending the useful time of an electrode by reducing the load to the electrode. SOLUTION: The reactor 1A is equipped with a reaction vessel 10 having the introducing port 4 of gas 2 to be reformed and the discharge port 8 of a reformed gas 6, a pair of the electrodes 12, which produce plasma, arranged to the internal space of the reaction vessel 10 in relatively opposed relationship, a power supply 14 applying voltage across a pair of the electrodes 12 and a catalyst for accelerating the reforming reaction of the gas 2 to be reformed. One of a pair of the electrodes 12 is a linear electrode 32 while the other one of them is a honeycomb electrode 34A comprising a conductive ceramic. The catalyst is supported on the partition wall of the honeycomb electrode 34A and the ratio of the maximum outer diameter d 1 of the cell opening edge face of the honeycomb electrode 34A to the length L 1 in the cell forming direction of the honeycomb electrode 34A is within a range of 0.50-1.2.
