SOLUTION: There are provided the method of and the device for purifying the mixture of substances using optionally fractional crystallization. Impurities often precipitate in addition to a desired product during the crystallization process since these impurities are present at high concentrations surpassing the solubility limit. According to the inventive method, a solvent or a mixture of solvents with a strong affinity to an impurity with a tendency to precipitate is added to the mixture of substances or its melt to be purified so that the corresponding impurity is retained in solution. If there are several impurities with a tendency to precipitate, some of the impurities can be retained in solution by adding a suitable solvent, and the remainder can be separated by mechanical means, for example, filtration by suction, centrifugation and the like.

摘要： Provided is a method for the separation and purification of high-purity 2,6-dimethylnaphthalene from a reaction mixture of dimethylnaphthalenes by continuous crystallization. According to the method, shell-tubetype crystallization apparatuses are used to perform crystallization operations under a continuous flow of a reaction mixture of dimethylnaphthalenes, which is obtained from the synthesis of dimethylnaphthalenes using o-xylene and butadiene as starting materials. As a result, high-purity 2,6-dimethylnaphthalene is separated and purified in a high yield from the reaction mixture. In addition, the method is advantageous in terms of energy saving when compared to conventional separation methods and enables continuous separation and purification of 2,6-dimethylnaphthalene on an industrial scale. A system for implementing the method is further provided.
