    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a working fluid filtering device of an electric discharge machine which does not require the replacement of a working fluid in a water-reserve tank after the end of filter cleaning and carries out filter cleaning in a proper period, thus allowing the effective use of the filter.SOLUTION: A filtering tank is lowered by driving a cylinder to stick a seal closely to a filtering material. A filter pump P2 is operated to start filtering. When a signal from a pressure sensor 25 is received, it is determined whether the signal from the pressure sensor 25 has exceeded a given value. When the signal has exceeded the given value, the filter pump P2 is stopped, and the cylinder is driven to lift the filtering tank to separate the seal from the filtering material. A filter recovery roll 11b then starts to roll up a first filter F1 by one section. When a filter supply roll finishes to supply the first filter F1, a motor is stopped and an alarm signal is sent out. When the filter supply roll 11a does not finish filter the supply, the filter recovery roll 11b rolls up the first filter F1 by one section, and after that, the next filtering is succeeded.

      SOLUTION: This drum type refining or washing apparatus is constituted so as to define a filtrate receptive chamber 34 facing the outer peripheral surface of a rotary drum 1 by a plurality of the filtrate receptive cells 31 arranged in the peripheral direction of the outer peripheral surface of the rotary drum 1 laterally installed, provide a discharge port 32 for discharging the filtrate received in the filtrate receptive cell 31 through a rotary drum-forming wall into a liquid vessel 11 at one end opposite to the rotating direction of the drum of each cell 31, discharge a filtrate received in the filtrate receptive chamber 34 of the filtrate receptive cell 31 through the discharging port 32 into the liquid vessel 11 during an escaping process of the filtrate receptive cell 31 onto the liquid surface 17 of the liquid vessel 11 in the accordance with rotation of the rotary drum 1 and generate the filtrate sucking force directing toward the inside of the receptive chamber 34 at a rotary drum-forming wall to which which the receptive chamber 34 of the cell 31 faces by discharge of the filtrate.
