    • PURPOSE:To make uniform the quantity of grinding with a grindstone, by altering the revolution speed of the surface of a cam as a function of the rotation angle of the cam. CONSTITUTION:A cam shaft 12 fitted with cams 14 at axial intervals is supported on a cam profile grinder 10 including a headstock and a tailstock. The profile of the cam 14 is shown in the drawing. While the bottom B of the cam 14 which is defined by a radius of R is in contact with a grindstone 16, the cam shaft 12 is rotated at a constant speed of VB so that the quantity of grinding of the cam with the grindstone is made uniform. The flat portions F1, F2 and protruded portion N of the cam 14 are ground at speeds of VF and VN, respectively. These revolution speeds, the feed of the grindstone 16 and the swing of the headstock and the tailstock are determined according to a predetermined program so that the quantity of grinding is made uniform.

    • PURPOSE:To enhance effectiveness in the work by coupling a corrective feed motor with the feed drive system, which is to allow the wheel spindle stock to make the feed motion for cutting-in, through a differential gearing mechanism and thereby making easily correction of the stand-by position of the grinding wheel when a stepped part of the work with different diameters is to be ground. CONSTITUTION:A support shaft 4 is installed at a drive shaft 2 equipped with a pinion 3 to be coupled with the feed screw of wheel spindle stock, and is coupled with a pulse motor 13 for feed of the wheel spindle stock through bevel gears 5, 6 and gears 9, 11, 3. Another bevel gear 7 meshes with the bevel gear 5 on support shaft 4 to constitute a differential gearing mechanism. With this bevel gear 7 in fixed condition, the number of revolutions of the bevel gear 6 is sensed with an encoder 8 to control the pulse motor 13, and thereby the wheel spindle stock is supplied with a feed according to the grinding feed cycle. In case the processing diameter is changed and in case the diameter of grinding element is changed after dressing, a pulse motor for correction 18 shall rotate the bevel gear 7.
