    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an improved U-shaped channel block allowing smooth transmition of load to its side walls when a vehicle or the like runs on a lid plate, while preventing shaking of a lid plate, and allowing easy construction work to enable an accurate channel construction, and capable of securing a wide area for a flow passage and to provide a forming mold therefor. SOLUTION: In a U-shaped channel block 1, the outer surface 7 of each side wall 2, 2 from its upper side to its lower side is formed as one even vertical plane, and stepped faces 9 serving as lid locks are formed as inwardly and downwardly tilted planar or curved faces. A downwardly diverging flow-passage- enlarging tilted face 13 crossing each stepped face 9 at right or greater angles is formed on the inner surface of each side wall below the stepped face 9. Therefore, load from a lid plate is smoothly transmitted to the U-shaped channel block 1 without causing large local bending stress on the side wall 2. Since each stepped face 9 is formed to project inside of the side wall 2, problems regarding strength do not arise even if no outer flange is formed at the upper side of each side wall, and the outer surface of each side wall can be formed as one plane.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide piled blocks permitting the construction of a curved retaining wall using blocks of specified shape without lateral dislocation of the blocks between an upper stage and a lower stage and longitudinal in-and-out between the adjacent blocks. SOLUTION: Each stage of a retaining wall is formed by alternately arranging first blocks 1 and second blocks 2 of different shape. The second block 2 is arranged in the state of both lateral sides of the front face of its front plate 4 being brought into vertical elongated face or line contact with both lateral side parts of front plates 3 of the adjacently arranged first blocks 1. The first blocks 1 and second blocks 2 are provided with the flat front plates 3,4 of equal height dimension and stay parts 6 projected behind and having bulge parts 5 formed at the tips. The height dimension of the bulge parts 5 is made smaller than the height dimension of the front plates 3, 4, or the front plates 4 of the second blocks 2 are formed into trapezoidal or partially conical faces.
