摘要： PURPOSE:To correct easily the pitch error of a rack by making the axis of a pinion eccentric from the rotation axis of a driving motor and attaching a gear to a revolving shaft of the driving motor and energizing a rack toward the gear. CONSTITUTION:A rack 7 is moved in directions of arrow Y1 and Y2 in accordance with a rotation angle theta of a pinion 13. A magnetic head moving base 6 is energized to turn in the direction of an arrow B with a guide rail 10 as the axis by the tension of a spring 21. In case of recording/reproducing on the innermost track t2 of a magnetic disc 1, when the pinion 13 is rotated half, 2DELTAl(=DELTAL) is added to a stroke L2 because the axis of the pinion 13 is dimensions DELTAl off the axis of a driving motor 14, and the magnetic head moving base 6 is moved in the direction of an arrow X1. A magnetic head 5 is corrected by a cumulative pitch error DELTAL of the rack and is moved to a desired track accurately.

Consequently, there is no fear of abutting the gimbal spring 39 against the cartridge 11, without detriment to the degree of freedom of the oscillation, a vertical displacement of the magnetic head 36 caused by waving deflection of the magnetic disk 12 due to a warp can be absorbed.

Since the movable carriage 1 is turned and energized making the guide rail 5 a turning fulcrum by a spring 18, no adjustment in engagement state of a rack 1a and the pinion 3 during assembling is required.
