    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of industrially producing dispersion of magnesium hydroxide fine powder at a low cost. SOLUTION: The magnesium hydroxide fine powder dispersion is produced by the production method including a step for preparing dispersion by dispersing magnesium hydroxide powder, obtained by bringing magnesium oxide powder comprising magnesium oxide fine particle produced by a vapor phase oxidation synthesis method and having 5-80 nm average primary particle diameter into contact with steam, in a solvent and a step for giving shear force to the dispersion by ceramic beads having 20-300 μm average particle diameter or giving pressure to the dispersion to form a dispersion jet stream, branching the dispersion jet stream into two or more to let the opposed dispersion jet streams collide with each other to disintegrate the magnesium hydroxide powder in each dispersion.
