    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To implement AC motor control capable of improving torque following quality when decreasing torque from a high torque range by simple control.SOLUTION: In a rectangular voltage control mode, an inverter 14 converts a DC voltage on a power line 7 to a rectangular voltage to feed an AC motor M1 in response to control signals S3-S8 from a control device 30. The control device 30 controls the phase of the rectangular voltage such that an output torque of the AC motor M1 matches a torque command value Tqcom. The control device 30 changes an upper limit guard value of the voltage phase in a torque decreasing direction from a normal level when decreasing the torque of the AC motor while the torque is in a high torque range. This forcibly ensures a change amount in the voltage phase.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To implement AC motor control capable of improving control responsiveness in a high torque range while ensuring general control stability.SOLUTION: In a rectangular voltage control mode, an inverter 14 converts a DC voltage on a power line 7 to a rectangular voltage to feed an AC motor M1 in response to control signals S3-S8 from a control device 30. The control device 30 controls the phase of the rectangular voltage such that an output torque of the AC motor M1 matches a torque command value Tqcom. The control device 30 controls the phase of the rectangular voltage to provide higher control responsiveness of torque when the torque of the AC motor is in a high torque range than when the torque is not in the high torque range.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To appropriately detect abnormality in shut-down operation of a switching element, in a boost-less power unit.SOLUTION: During a regenerating operation of a rotating machine M, a power supply line LINE is temporarily brought into a cut-off state by a shut-down operation of a switching element Q. On the basis of whether or not a voltage VH at a side of an inverter 14 is increased to a voltage VB of an accumulation device 12 or higher while the power supply line LINE is brought into the cut-off state, it is determined whether a connecting/disconnecting operation of the power supply line LINE by the switching element Q is normal or abnormal. Therefore, although abnormality in shut-down operation of the switching element Q during normal operation can not be detected in a power unit 10, an abnormal state which may disable the shut-down operation such as a circuit failure of a driver circuit 16 or an ON failure of the switching element Q can be detected.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a harmonic current from being included in a charge current from a commercial power supply when a vehicle battery is charged with power from the commercial power supply. SOLUTION: The commercial power supply 18 is connected to a neutral point between two motors 16 and 17 that are controlled respectively by inverters 14 and 15 with a battery 10 as a DC power supply. The inverters 14 and 15 generate zero-phase voltages to control a neutral point voltage for the motors 16 and 17 to charge the battery 10 with the commercial power supply 18. A distorted voltage is generated due to the fluctuation of an inverter DC voltage in a voltage command value. To suppress the distorted voltage, a correction voltage is read from a distorted voltage table prepared in advance and is applied to the voltage command value. The distorted voltage table is optimized using an adaptive filter. COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a power unit which can judge the existence of melting of a relay to be connected to a capacitor without increasing power consumption more than necessary. SOLUTION: A controller 20 discharges a capacitor C2 after giving a control command SEC for switch off to system relays SRC1 and SRC2. The controller 20 judges that the system relays SRC1 and SRC2 are sound if there is no discharge in the capacitor C1, and judges that the system relays SRC1 and SRC2 are melted together if there is discharge.
