    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cooling structure of an exhaust collecting portion integrated type engine capable of suppressing bulging toward the outside of an exhaust manifold mounting surface side of a cylinder head, and certainly preventing the looseness of a bolt or the breakage of a screw portion due to a thermal load.
      SOLUTION: In the cylinder head 1, a plurality of exhaust branch passages, an exhaust collecting portion 23 where these exhaust branch passages are collected, and a water jacket 4 cooling the exhaust collecting portion are integrally formed. One side surface 12 of the cylinder head is provided with an exhaust manifold mounting surface 31 on which an exhaust manifold 3 connected to the exhaust collecting portion is mounted. Furthermore, the exhaust manifold mounting surface is provided with a bolt mounting hole 32 mounting the exhaust manifold by the bolt is provided. In the bolt mounting hole, a screw portion 321 with which the bolt is screwed, and a counter bore 322 recessed inward from the exhaust manifold mounting surface so as to position the screw portion near an expanding portion 41 of the water jacket.

    • PURPOSE: To fasten a cylinder head to a block main body on each side of the center line of a cylinder bore, while keeping the cylinder bore from deflecting. CONSTITUTION: An exterior wall part 4 is formed on each side of an interior wall part 3 in which a plurality of cylinder bores 6 are provided parallel to each other, and both wall parts 3, 4 are connected together by a deck part 5 to constitute a part of a block main body 2. A first bolt hole 17 into which a first head bolt for fastening a cylinder head is threaded is formed in the side portion of the external wall part 4 between the adjacent cylinder bores 6. A projection 24 is formed on the side portion of the external wall part 4 between the adjacent cylinder bores 6. The side portion has higher rigidity than that portion of the block main body 2 which is on each side of the center line L of the cylinder bore 6 in the external wall part 4. An intermediate member 19 is disposed at the side of the external wall part 4 and connected to the projection 24 by a bolt 26. A second bolt hole 27, into which is threaded a second head bolt 28 for fastening the cylinder head, is formed in the portion of the intermediate member 19 on each side of the center line L.
