    • PURPOSE: To reduce draft resistance in a fresh air introducing passage as well as to obtain cheaper air/fuel ratio control by supplying fresh air inhaled through a fresh air introducing valve to either an inlet or exhaust manifold through EGR passage in order to control the air/ fuel ratio.
      CONSTITUTION: A fresh air introducing valve 21 partitions a casing 22 into a vacuum room 24 and a high pressure room 25 with a diaphragm 23, while the high pressure room 25 is separated from a fresh air room 28 with partition No. 1, 27. The fresh air room 28 is separated from a reed valve room 30 with partition No. 2, 29, while a valve port 31 located at the centre of the partition 29 is opened/closed by means of a valve disc 33 attached, via a valve spindle 32, to the diaphragm 23. The said vacuum room 24 is connected to an inlet manifold 2 via a vacuum passage No. 1, 4, provided with a reducer 9, while the high pressure room 25 is connected to the vacuum passage 4 via a vacuum passage No. 2, 5, provided with a pressure change- over valve 10. The fresh air room 28 is connected to an air cleaner 16 via a passage 6. The pressure change-over valve 10 is changed over depending on the output from an O
      2 sensor 12 in order to control the volume of fresh air flowing into an EGR passage 7.
