The recessed groove 273 is located outside the seal surface 27a and recessed from the fixed surface 271, while separating both edges of the valve part 255 from the bottom thereof. The receiving surface 27b is flush with the fixed surface 271, and is brought into contact with the back surface 252 in a tip area of the valve part 255.     • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a compressor capable of remarkably reducing suction resistance.SOLUTION: In the compressor, a suction reed valve 25a includes a fixed portion 251 to be fixed to a valve plate 27, a base 252 extending in the longitudinal direction from the fixed portion 251 and liftable from the valve plate 25, and a valve portion 253 extending to a tip side D1 in the longitudinal direction from the base 252 for opening/closing a suction port 23a. The suction port 23a extends in the width direction orthogonal to the longitudinal direction. The base 252 has a width W longer than the length L in the width direction of the suction port 23a. The valve portion 253 has an open/close portion 213 opposite to the suction port 23a and a pair of stoppers 211, 212 protruding at both ends in the width direction from the open/close portion 213. Opposite side end edges 252a, 252b in the width direction are connected to the base 252 from the stoppers 211, 212 so as to gradually approach to the suction port 23a. The vane compressor 10 includes an oil discharge passage 50 connecting the oil discharge hole 42b and the oil storage chamber 31. The oil discharge passage 50 communicates to another end of the oil discharge hole 42b at one end thereof and includes a discharge port 53 opening to the oil storage chamber 31 at another end thereof. In the oil discharge passage 50, a second passage part 52 is formed to extend upward along a vertical direction so as to position the discharge port 53 above another end of the oil discharge hole 42b.
