    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fuel (such as gas oil) lubricating diesel engine for reducing the number of part items.
      SOLUTION: This fuel (such as gas oil) lubricating diesel engine 1 has a lubricating system fuel supply passage 5 for supplying fuel to an engine lubricating system 4 from a fuel tank 2 via a regulator 9 arranged on the downstream side of a low pressure pump 8 by the low pressure pump 8, and an injection system fuel supply passage 10 branching off from the lubricating system fuel supply passage 5 on the upstream side of the regulator 9 and supplying the fuel sent by the low pressure pump 8 to an injection system 12 by a high pressure pump 11. The number of part items is reduced by constituting so as not to have a feed pump by making the low pressure pump 8 function not only as a lubricating pump but also as the feed pump to the high pressure pump.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a ringless piston with a simple structure which can circumvent an increase in friction between a piston and a cylinder liner.
      SOLUTION: In a lateral periphery of a piston body 4, the ringless piston 1 is provided with an interference fitting portion 5 compressed to the cylinder liner 3a by elasticity. The interference fitting portion 5 is provided in a skirt portion 6 thinned by making the lateral periphery of the piston body 4 into a barrel-shaped form. The ringless piston like this contracts the interference fitting portion 5 by pushing it to house in and is mounted inside of a cylinder block. An oil film is formed between the interference fitting portion 5 and the cylinder liner and a gaseous matter sealing function is exerted by oil pressure generated by the oil film.

      SOLUTION: The device for controlling the quantity of oil in an oil tank is installed in the engine comprising a lubricating-system fuel-supply path for supplying fuel by a lubrication pump from the oil tank to the engine-lubricating system, an injection-system fuel-supply path for supplying fuel by an injection pump from the oil tank to the injection system, and an injection-system fuel-return path for returning the injection-system return-fuel after being supplied to the injection-system fuel-supply path to the fuel tank. The device for controlling the quantity of oil in an oil tank comprises a bypass passing around the injection system, an opening/closing valve for controlling fuel-inflow into the bypass, and an oil-level sensor for detecting the oil quantity in the oil tank, and further an opening/closing-valve control means for controlling opening/closing of the opening/closing valve on the basis of a value detected by the sensor.

      SOLUTION: The cylinder lubrication device 20 is provided with a high pressure fuel injection valve 19 injecting fuel into the cylinder 21 of the engine 1 at high pressure, and a low pressure fuel injection valve 24 injecting fuel into the cylinder at low pressure. The low pressure fuel injection valve 24 is supplied with fuel by a lubrication pump supplying fuel as lubricating oil to an engine lubrication system such as a periphery of a cylinder head and a periphery of a crankshaft. Injected fuel can be adhered on a cylinder liner 22 without evaporating the same by injecting fuel into the cylinder 21 at low pressure. Consequently, fuel evaporates on the cylinder liner 22 to avoid getting into a dry condition to reduce friction.

A regulator (18) is arranged in the branched fuel supply passage (17). The properly depressurized fuel is supplied into an adjustable valve mechanism, etc., contained in each part (7) of the engine. Such a constitution makes it possible to obtain the optimal oil pressure and oil amount of each part (7) of the engine using the low-pressure lubricating pump (10).
