    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an insulation-coated aluminum electrical conductor which has high insulation properties and is excellent in abrasion resistance, cryogenic cycle durability and the like.SOLUTION: The insulation-coated aluminum electrical conductor comprises: a base material comprising pure aluminum or an aluminum alloy; and an insulation coating film for covering the surface of the base material. The insulation coating film comprises an anodic oxide film formed on the surface of the base material. The anodic oxide film has, at the least, an inner layer part formed on the base material side and an outer layer part formed on the opposed side of the base material to the inner layer part, and the inner layer part has the specific surface area larger than that of the outer layer part. As a result, the inner layer part exhibits excellent insulation properties and the outer layer part exhibits excellent abrasion resistance and has further excellent cryogenic cycle durability. The insulation-coated aluminum electrical conductor is suitable for, for example, coils of an exothermic electric motor.
