    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a composite catalyst, with which the composite catalyst comprising a porous metal complex and a functional material having catalysis can be produced within a time shorter than the conventional method.SOLUTION: The complex catalyst includes the porous metal complex which is formed by accumulating an organic metal complex comprising a central metal and an organic ligand to be coordinated with the central metal and has a porous structure, and the functional material having catalysis. The method for producing the composite catalyst includes steps of: preparing a raw material solution which contains a compound comprising the central metal constituting the porous metal complex, another compound becoming the organic ligand, and the functional material or a precursor thereof and in which the seed of the porous metal complex and/or the composite catalyst is uniformly dispersed; atomizing the prepared raw material solution in a gas phase to produce a liquid droplet; and heating the produced liquid droplet to grow the seed to the composite catalyst.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a non-platinum high-active oxidation-reduction catalyst formed by thermally treating a heterocyclic compound chemically bonded with a functional group on the surface of a conductive material, and a metal complex composite formed of metal, especially a catalyst for a fuel cell exhibiting excellent power generation characteristics in the fuel cell, a polymer-coated catalyst for a fuel cell formed by coating the catalyst for a fuel cell with ion conductive polymer, to provide a membrane electrode assembly using these catalysts for fuel cells, and to provide the fuel cell. SOLUTION: The non-platinum high-active oxidation-reduction catalyst is formed by thermally treating the heterocyclic compound chemically bonded with the functional group on the surface of the conductive material, and the metal complex composite formed of metal. Specifically, the catalyst for a fuel cell exhibits the excellent power generation characteristics in the fuel cell. Alternatively, the polymer coated catalyst for a fuel cell is formed by coating the catalyst for a fuel cell with ion conductive polymer.
