As a result, it makes possible that for the recording medium 14 no conventional auxiliary servo pattern is needed at the time of head-positioning with respect to the SSW intermediate pattern 55 such as a multi spiral pattern etc.

That is, a coordinate input processing part 5 sends the coordinate information to the part 71 and also gives an instruction to the part 63 for output of an accepting tone after the input of coordinates. The part 71 decides the propriety of the input operation based on the received coordinate information and the input operation deciding information stored in the part 72. Based on the result of this decision, an instruction is given to the part 63 for output of a deciding tone. Then both accepting and deciding tones are outputted at one time with control performed so as to evade the overlapping of both tones. Thus the accepting tone and the deciding tone are outputted in sequence.
