    • PURPOSE: To avoid the tripping of a gas turbine, by tripping a steam turbine and at the same time, discharging gas turbine exhaust heat to the atmosphere when system frequency is fluctuated so as to be off an allowable frequency zone in the steam turbine or the steam turbine can not be continuously operated. CONSTITUTION: In case that a gas turbine operation continuing device in a combined cycle plant is equipped with exhaust heat recovery boilers 7 to recover exhaust heat in gas turbines 9 through dampers 11, and generators 1 are driven by steam from the exhaust heat recovering boilers 7 through a steam turbine 3, the frequencies of the generators 1 are monitored by a frequency monitoring device 2. When system frequency is fluctuated, and changed into frequency being off an allowable frequency zone in the steam turbine 3, the steam turbine 3 is tripped, and at the same time, the dampers 11 are switched so that the exhaust heat in the gas turbines 9 is discharged, to the atmosphere, through bypass ducts 12 and funnels 13. By the foregoing process, the exhaust heat in the gas turbines 9 may not be sent to the exhaust heat recovery boilers 7 so that the gas turbines 9 can be continuously operated.

CONSTITUTION:A post-LTC switched state calculation circuit 18 calculates the reactive power output change of a generator in order to estimate the driving state of the generator after a controller for on-load tap changer for the boosting transformer of the generator (LTC) 3. A generator acceptable output characteristic memory 19 stores the acceptable driving characteristic of the generator as an acceptable driving range in a complete or simplified shape, and inputs it to a comparison/judgement circuit 20 with the driving state of the generator which is expected after the switching of LTC. A driving limit is confirmed not to be exceeded and a trigger command is given to a switching command circuit 21 which gives the permission condition of an LTC switching command from the outside. Thus, the driving ability of the generator is shown in a maximum, even if driving which contributes to the improvement of system electric power quality is executed by LTC switching control.

In this manner, the fallen value of rotation of a motor can be reduced, even if the control system is changed to the stand by system.
