    • PURPOSE:To fom an optical mixing part by melting and removing the clad layers and cores of plural plastic-made optical fibers partially through heat-ray irradiation, arranging those optical fibers oppositely, and filling the gap between the cores with a transparent material. CONSTITUTION:Side surfaces of two plastic-made optical fibers 6 and 7 are placed in conatct with each other and irradiated with a laser beam which is smaller than the core diameter of the optical fiber in a direction X in a figure to melt plastic-made cores and clad layers partially, forming the gap A. This gap A is filled with a material which has a refractive index and light transmission loss nearly to those of the core material to form the optical mixing part. Lastly, a clad layer film is adhered to the optical mixing part.

    • PURPOSE:To form a junction without decreasing the lifetime of minority carriers by a method wherein an Si oxide thin film layer containing an impurity is formed on a semiconductor substrate, and the thin film layer is heat-irradiated with laser beams which show permeability to the substrate. CONSTITUTION:A PSG film 2 is deposited by CVD method on a mirror-finished surface of the boron doped P type Si single crystal substrate 1 whose one surface has been mirror-finished. Next, when the entire surface of th PSG film 2 is irradiated with a carbonic acid gas laser light 3, the most part of the carbonic acid gas laser light 3 is absorbed into the PSG film 2, the film 2 and only the surface layer of the substrate 1 which contacts the film 2 are effectively heated, and then the impurity is diffused from the PSG film 2 into the substrate 1. At this time, since the laser light 3 is hardly absorbed into the substrate 1, the temperature increase inside the substrate becomes small; accordingly the decrease of the lifetime of the minority carriers of the Si substrate can be prevented.

    • PURPOSE:To make a laser light to enter in an optical guide without using a lens by a method wherein a penetrating hole is provided at the central part of a reflector on the outer side of a photo resonator, and one edge of the light guide is inserted therein. CONSTITUTION:One side of the board type part 6 of the metal mirror 5 on the output side is a mirror face 9 facing to the Brewster window 2 of a laser tube 3, and the optical fiber 10 provided with a protective tube 11 is inserted in the hole 8 penetrating the board type part 6 and a connecting part 7. The coupling coefficient of the optical resonator 1 is decided by the diameter of the fiber 10, the reflection coefficient of the edge face thereof and the radius of curvature of a concave mirror 4, and the laser light of output corresponding to the coupling coefficient thereof enters in the fiber 10, and is conducted to the proper place. At this construction, incidence of the laser light in the fiber 10 is enabled effectively only by regulating the angle of the mirror face 9 of the metal mirror 5. Moreover because the reflector on the output side is not needed to transmit the laser light, the metal mirror of low cost can be used, optical loss is reduced according to omission of the lens, and efficiency is enhanced.

    • PURPOSE:To improve the efficiency in working, by synthesizing laser beams, dividing the synthesized laser beam and performing multi-point working.
