    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a flowmeter that determines inverse connection for appropriate use even if the flowmeter is connected opposite to a normal connection direction.
      SOLUTION: A flow rate calculation means 21 determines the flow direction of gas from a signal acquired by a flow rate sensor 3, calculates a flow rate, where a minus sign is added to the absolute value of the flow rate, when gas flows in a forward direction, and calculates the flow rate, where a minus sign is added to the absolute value of the flow rate, when the flow is in the opposite direction. An inverse connection judging means 22 integrates the flow rate being calculated by the flow rate calculation means 21, and measures the integration time. Then, the integral flow rate within a specific time is equal to or less than a specific value, the connection is judged to be opposite. A flow rate sign switching means 23 switches the plus/minus of the flow rate being outputted by the flow rate calculating means 21 when the connection is judged to be in the opposite direction (namely, when the sign of the flow rate is positive and negative, the sign is set to negative and positive, respectively) for outputting.
