SOLUTION: In this column shift switch device, a start or stop signal S8 is transmitted from an IG switch 24 to a driving part 17 via an ECU 16 and the engine 17a is started, when a driver rotates a lever 20 in an arrow C direction of Fig. 4(a) after ID of a remote control key 4 is authenticated by an authentication part 15. By displacing the lever 20 in an arrow A or B direction in the rotated of the lever 20, a shift-up switch 22 or a shift-down switch 23 is turned on, a shift-up signal S4 or a shift-down signal S5 is transmitted to the ECU 16, and a shift switching signal S6 based on the shift-up signal S4 or the shift-down signal S5 is transmitted to the driving part 17.
