    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing, safely and in high yields, raw material components constituting a polymer, such as bis-hydroxy terephthalate, terephthalic acid and dimethyl terephthalate, from polyester waste which includes mainly polyalkylene terephthalate and contains polyurethane.SOLUTION: The method for producing a raw material of polyalkylene terephthalate from a polyester composition including mainly polyalkylene terephthalate and containing polyurethane comprises subjecting the polyester composition to the following steps (a) and (b) in sequence: step (a) of subjecting the polyester composition, alkylene glycol and/or a depolymerized product of the polyester composition to a depolymerization reaction at a temperature of 170-280°C to obtain a depolymerization reaction liquid; and step (b) of separating a solid material from the depolymerization reaction liquid obtained in the step (a). In the step (b), the sum of concentrations of isocyanate groups and amino groups in a liquid component stuck to the separated solid material is controlled to 1,000 ppm or lower.
