The correcting means M4 obtains detection characteristics of the respective detecting means M2a-M2d on the basis of the respective road surface state detection values, and individually corrects reference values or the road surface state detection values of the damping force characteristic switching means M3a-M3d in accordance with the detection characteristics. The switching means M3a-M3d compares the reference values and the detection values based on the results to change over individually the damping force characteristics of the respective shock absorbers M1a-M1d. According to this constitution, riding comfortableness as well as maneuvering stability is improved.

Hereupon, when a traveling condition detection means M4 detects acceleration condition and/or braking condition of the vehicle, a left and right wheel synchronous control means M5 switches control carried out by means of the vibration condition control means M3 into control in which a pair of, left and right, wheels M2R, M2L are synchronized independently of each wheel M2. In this manner, characteristics of the damping force, the spring constant, etc., of the left and right wheels are generally equalized, so that driving force and braking force become equal in left and right wheels to be able to obtain good stability of the vehicle.

    • PURPOSE: To increase a stationary torque and an output torque even in a small size by providing a pair of stationary pole members opposed through an air gap to a rotor, and displacing obliquely the opposed ends of the members in a circumferential direction.
      CONSTITUTION: A rotor 4 which has two surfaces parallel to a rotational shaft 7 and is made of a magnetic material is mounted on the shaft 7. A pair of arcuate stationary pole members 2, 3 are disposed through an air gap to the rotor 4 on the outer periphery of the rotor 4, and an exciting coil 1 for exciting the members 2, 3 is coupled. The positions of the opposed ends 2b and 3b, 2d and 3d of the members 2, 3 are displaced circumferentially, and the intermediate is inclined. Thus, output torque and detent torque are shared by the upper and lower portions of the rotor 4 to effectively generate the torques.

    • PURPOSE:To protect a tyre if it is punctured by increasing a ground clearance of a tyre which is placed in the lateral direction of the punctured tyre if the ground clearance of a tyre which is placed in the obliquely front or obliquely rear position of the punctured tyre is increased. CONSTITUTION:When a puncture detector 20 detects a puncture of a tyre, a puncture signal is sent to a receiving device 30. The receiving device then seeks for the punctured tyre from the front right, rear right, front left and rear right tyres 12, 14, 16 and 18. Suppose the front right tyre 12, for example, is punctured, the position of the tyre is input to a computer 32. The spring constant of the suspension unit of the punctured tyre is increased to restrain the punctured tyre from sink. The computer determines whether the ground clearance of the tyre 18 placed in the obliquely front or the obliquely rear position of the punctured tyre is increased or not. If the ground clearance is increased, the ground clearance of the tyre 16 which is placed in the lateral direction of the punctured tyre is increased. Such constitution can lessen a load which will be applied to the punctured tyre and protect the tyre.

    • PURPOSE: To make it possible to reach a vehicle height almost satisfying a target vehicle height as soon as possible, by closing a plurality of gas chambers, and supplying pressure gas to the gas chamber only with reduced capacity.
      CONSTITUTION: Each of suspensions 12, 14, 16 and 18 is provided with two air chambers 20a and 20b. When both the air chambers 20a and 20b are communicated with each other, capacity of the air chambers becomes large to make a spring constant low. A vehicle height is detected by height sensors 22 and 23 provided at respective portions of a vehicle body opposite to left and right wheels, a height sensor 24 provided at an intermediate portion of the vehicle body between left and right rear wheels, and links 22a, 23a and 24a provided near the suspensions. When signals from the sensors are input to CPU26, and vehicle height is lower than a predetermined height, the computer 26 acts to drive a motor 28 to operate an air compressor 30, and also open leveling valves 32. Further, the computer 26 acts to operate actuators 34 to temporarily close the air chambers 20a and 20b.
