    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make an end face of a shaft part of a bolt flat during the forming. SOLUTION: A bolt 30 is inserted in and fitted to a through hole 14a of a die 10, a bolt head part 31 is pressed by a punch die 20, and drawn into a through hole 14b by a drawing land 11a to form a shaft part 32. The shaft part pressed by the punch die is chamfered at the tip by a chamfering and drawing land 11c, and pressed against a knock-out member 16. A clearance W1 is formed between a recessed part 11a of an upper die part 11 and an end part of the knock-out member. The excess metal at the tip of the shaft part is flowed by the clearance W1, and flowed out into a cavity 13 through the clearance W1 to provide a flange-shaped thin-walled part 32a around the shaft part. Due to the flowing of the shaft part, the space between the end faces of the tip of the shaft part and the knock-out member is filled to make the tip of the shaft part flat surface. The thin-walled part 32a is held between the chamfering and drawing land and cut, and the shape of the product is not affected.

CONSTITUTION:A stepped part 1c is provided in a recessed state around the die hole 1a on the upper end face 1b of a die 1; a receiving face 1d is provided in a projecting state around the stepped part 1c; a recessed part 1e for receiving scrap is provided in a recessed state around the receiving face 1d; and an abutting face If is provided in a projecting state around the recessed part 1e for receiving scrap. The shaft part W1 of an unworked bolt W is inserted into the die hole 1a of the die 1.     • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for supporting a design with which the decision of a working condition (at least one side of a cross sectional shape of a work-piece for forging and setting position of the work-piece in a forging die) enable to restrain the wear of the forging die, is supported.
      SOLUTION: The design supporting method at first simulates a deforming process of the work-piece during forging by giving the initial values to the cross sectional shape and the setting position of the work-piece. Depending on the simulation, a moving distance of a strain speed zero point in the inner part of the work-piece in the deformation process is estimated. The working condition is corrected so that estimated moving distance becomes short. Depending on shortage of the moving distance of the strain speed zero point, a horizontal directional load applied to the work-piece during the forging-work becomes small. That is, the load of the horizontal direction applied to the forging die becomes small. In this result, the wear of the forging die is restrained.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent underfill from occurring in a workpiece after forged, despite of the abrasion of a forging die due to change over time.
      SOLUTION: The invented forging method comprises three processing steps. The first step (S11) is to specify a region of the workpiece in which the cross-sectional area of the workpiece forged by the forging die after the changeover time becomes larger than that of the workpiece forged by the forging die before the changeover time. The second step (S14) is to measure the abrasion amount of the region of the forging die which touches the specified region of the workpiece. In the third step (S18) the distance between the cope and drag of the forging die is lessened if the measured abrasion amount exceeds the threshold value. If the abrasion amount exceeds the threshold value, the distance between the cope and drag of the forging die is lessened so that underfill in the workpiece can be prevented.
