    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To effectively reduce an impact load to a occupant when a vehicle collides by forming the front end of the lower case such that it can be deformed and escapes from the plastic deformation of the metal spoke when the metal spoke is plastically deformed near the lower side of the boss thereof and interferes with the lower case. SOLUTION: In a steering wheel having a metal spoke which is plastically deformed near a boss by a load over the setting load, a column cover 20 is disposed near the rear side of the metal spoke and comprises an upper case 28 and a lower case 30 which are divided into two cases in the direction of the length. The front end of the lower case 30 can be deformed such that it escapes from the deformation of the metal spoke when the metal spoke interferes with the lower case 30 which is plastically deformed: the front divided part 34 is formed at the front peripheral wall of the lower case 30 via weak parts 32, 33 and when it is divided, the divided end part can be overlapped on the lower case body 36 side.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an air bag which can be manufactured by easily reversing an opening part even when its opening part is diametrically lessened. SOLUTION: An air bag 20 is formed in bag shape mutually sewing a peripheral edge of a car body side base cloth 27 provided with an opening part 21 inserting an inflator and an occupant side base cloth 28 provided with a roof part 25 opposed to the opening part 21. A mutually sewed location of the peripheral edge of the car body/occupant side base cloth 21, 28 is constituted by a first sewed part 31 occupying most of the sewed location and a second sewed part 32 shorter than the first sewed part 31. The air bag 20, after the first sewed part 31 is formed, utilizing an opening in nonsewed location formed with the second sewed part 32, reversing an air bag material, thereafter forming the second sewed part 32, is manufactured.
