摘要： PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an air bag for a steering wheel capable of expecting an increase in the action of turning to the vertical directional center line of the air bag, particularly, the bag entering action between an occupant belly part and a ring part. SOLUTION: In a bag body of an almost circular shape in a plane outer peripheral shape when completing unfolding and swelling, this air bag for the steering wheel has a bag body 26 having a front panel and a rear panel having a gas inflow port 20 and a flow straightening cloth body 28 arranged in the bag body 26. The flow straightening cloth body 28 forms a pair of left and right radial directional passages 30 and 32 extending up to the outer peripheral edge of the bag body 26 by branching off to the left and right both sides from the gas inflow port 20 and a pair of left and right peripheral directional passages 38 and 40 having respectively the upper and lower opening ends 34 and 36 in a gas out-flowable position toward the vertical directional center line C of the bag body 26 by vertically extending along the peripheral edge of the bag body 26 from the tip of the radial passages 30 and 32.

The ornament 21 is fitted to the door part 14 by inserting the leg parts 23, 24 in the respective through holes 17, 18 and fastening the leg parts 23, 24 to each other by the rivet 30.

Buried in the pad part 3 is a cloth insert 41 installed on a support bar core 24 to actuate with the development of the air bag device 13. Namely, the cloth insert 41 covers the support bar core 24 and are folded to form at least a hinge part 50 in a doubly folded state. The superimposed part of the insert 41 is sewn.

CONSTITUTION:A pad of a steering wheel is provided with an outer cover 10, a plane-shaped switch 30, and a rigid supporting plate 20 for supporting the switch 30. The switch 30 is arranged on the upper surface 20a of the supporting plate 20 that has been fitted on the inside of the outer cover by the fitting ribs 14 so as to have a prescribed interval between the inside of the outer cover 10 and the upper surface 20a of the supporting plate by means of the space regulating projections 21, 13.
