摘要： PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an auxiliary heat source device integrally incorporated with a generator, in which a viscous heater can be simply held on an alternator even though the shaft of the alternator, the shaft of the viscous heat and a pulley are integrally incorporated with each other in the heat source device. SOLUTION: A viscous heater 7 is laid on the pulley 16 side remote from to a position where electric parts such as a rectifying device 2 attached to an alternator 6, a voltage regulator 27, a current collector 28 and a brush device 9 are arranged, and remote from a position where a lightweight but low rigid protecting cover 30 is attached, and accordingly, the heater 7 can be assembled to a housing 23 having a high rigidity and attached to an engine. Thus, it is not required to cause the protecting cover to have a high rigidity and a heavy weight, thereby it is possible toprevent the total weight of the auxiliary heat source device integrally incorporated with a generator, from increasing.

摘要： PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To restrain the generation of such heat loss that a heat generated in a heat generating room is released to the atmosphere through a housing and increase the heat exchange rate to a heat radiating room, in a vehicular heat generator. SOLUTION: A heat generating room 7 and front/rear partition plates 5, 6 for partitioning both water jackets 8, 9 are stored in front/rear housing main bodies 1, 2. In both partition plates 5, 6, as their outer periphery walls are contacted with the inner periphery wall of the front housing main body 1, periphery grooves 5d, 6d as a recessed part extending to a periphery direction are provided recessingly on the outer periphery wall, while being positioned so as not to be moved. Such periphery grooves 5d, 6d form one part of the circulation passage of a circulation water in both water jackets 8, 9 and the inner walls of the periphery grooves 5d, 6d guide the flow of the circulation water. Meantime, the circulation water absorbs a heat generated in the heat generation room 7 and also the heat transmission to the front housing main body 1 is stopped at the minimum.

摘要： PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To protect a V-belt by early detecting abnormality of a viscous heater, and to ensure a drive force to other engine auxiliary machine, such as an electromagnetic clutch for a compressor, an alternator and a hydraulic pump. SOLUTION: A viscous heater 9 is formed such that a gap between a rotor and a housing is very narrow, a rotor is locked due to interference between the rotor and the housing, and the rotor is locked due to adhesion of some foreign matter to the periphery of a shaft. When the viscous heater 9 is locked, smooth transmission of a power between a V-belt 6 and a viscous clutch 7 is not effected and the rotation speed of the rotor of the viscous heater 9 is decreased to a value much lower than the rotation speed of the engine. Thereby, when the rotation speed of the rotor is decreased to a value much lower than the rotation speed of the engine, it is judged that the viscous heater 9 is locked and by disengaging the viscous clutch 7, the V-belt 6 and the viscous clutch 7 are protected.

摘要： PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the number of part items of clutch mechanism or the like, simplify driving force transmission mechanism, and the like by functionally selecting auxiliary machines to combine them. SOLUTION: Driving force of an engine is transmitted to a driving force intermittent device 20 through a pulley 18. A pair of clutch plates 44, 46 to which a compressor 12 and a viscous heater 14 are connected are arranged with a rotating plate 40 of the pulley 18 placed in between. Passive plates 56 of the clutch plates 44, 46 are opposed with clearances to driving plates 60 of the rotating plate 40. According to the polarity of magnetic force generated by applying a current to the exciting coil 62 provided in the rotating plate 40, a magnet plate 76 or 78 of either one of the clutch plates is attracted, and the passive plate is brought into contact with the driving plate and integrally rotated. Driving force is thereby transmitted to either one of the compressor and viscous heater.

SOLUTION: Front and rear housing main bodies 1, 2 and front and rear partition plates 5, 6 constitute a heater housing, in which a heat generation chamber 7 which stores a rotor 14, two jackets (heat radiation chamber) 8, 9 arranged in the front and rear of the heat generation chamber 7, and an auxiliary oil chamber (storing chamber) 10 communicated with the heat generation chamber 7 are partitioned. A required amount of silicone oil (viscous fluid) is filled in the heat generation chamber 7 and the auxiliary oil chamber 10. A plurality of heat absorption fins 21, 22 are formed on front and rear inner walls of the auxiliary oil chamber 10. Excessive heat is rapidly absorbed from high temperature oil recovered from the heat generation chamber 7 into the auxiliary oil chamber 10, and heat is transferred to the rear partition plate 6 and the rear housing main body 2 to discharge the heat into the circulation water which flows in the rear water jacket 9.

Further, when an engine rotation speed is increased to a value higher than a set engine rotation speed taking the oil temperature of viscous fluid into consideration, the viscous clutch 7 is not engaged and the rotation power of the engine is not transmitted to the rotor 53 of the viscous heater 9, whereby a shearing force is not exerted on viscous fluid in the heat generating chamber 50 and the oil temperature of the viscous fluid is not excessively increased to 200 deg.C or higher.

Thereby in each annular circulation passage the circulating water is circulated in one direction from its lowest level LP to its highest level HP to prevent air from staying in the water jacket 8.
