    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize a quick heating in starting in a heat generator using a viscous fluid heated by the shearing action by the rotation of a rotor as the heating source of a cabin by providing a moving means for moving the viscous fluid to a liquid-tight clearance side between the liquid-tight clearance and a storing area. SOLUTION: When a drive shaft 8 is driven by an engine, a rotor 9 is rotated within the heating chamber 5 of a viscous heater VH, and silicone oil SO is heated in a cylindrical and disc-like liquid-tight clearance between a housing 1 and the rotor 9 by receiving a shearing force. Since the temperature of the cooling water within a water jacket WJ is raised by heat exchange by this heating, the heated cooling water is utilized for heating of a cabin and warming of the engine through a heating circuit. In this case, the silicone oil SO which is apt to be unevenly present on the inside surface of the cylinder part 11 of the rotor 9 is centrifugally guided to the guide part of a protruding part 23, passed through a connecting clearance 22 and moved to a supplying groove 24, so that the heating efficiency can be improved.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce starting torque and feed a viscous fluid rapidly to a heating chamber after starting by making the level of the viscous fluid in a storage chamber changeable regardless of the opened/closed state of a recovery passage and a feed passage. SOLUTION: A diaphragm 30 is provided to partition a storage chamber SR into a storage area on the side of a feed hole 2c and a recovery hole 2d, and a non-storage area on the side of an atmosphere hole 2e, and the diaphragm 30 is fixed to a laterally slidable spool 31. At the time of an engine stop, an electromagnetic coil 34 is excited. Then, the spool 31 enlarges the volume of the storage area against the energizing force of a press spring 32, and silicone oil SO in the storage area is fed only in small quantity to a heating chamber 6 with own small weight based on the low level (h) so as to reduce starting torque. After starting, the electromagnetic coil 34 is demagnetized. The volume of the storage area is therefore reduced, and the level of the silicone oil SO rises and is fed in large quantity to the heating chamber 6 on the basis of the high level so as to attain rapid heating.

    • PURPOSE: To provide a single head piston type compressor which can prevent washdown of lubricating oil caused by liquid refrigerant even at the starting and which can keep a crank room in a good lubricated condition. CONSTITUTION: An oil pan 37 is formed in a projected manner, ranging over the outer side surfaces of a cylinder block 11 and a front housing. The oil pan 37 is communicated with a crank room 22 by a communicating hole 38 at the rear and upper part of the pan 37. A first oil feeding passage 39 is prepared between the oil pan 37 and a front-side bearing part of a driving shaft 16. One end of the first oil feeding passage 39 is opened above the highest liquid level (L) of the liquid refrigerant 45 in the oil pan 37, while the other end is opened in the vicinity of the point above the lowest end of the driving shaft 16. The driving shaft 16 is provided with a second oil feeding passage 40 in such a manner that the second passage 40 is almost communicated with the first passage 39, and the passage 40 is opened at a swash plate and at the neighborhood of a rear-side bearing part.
