    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve protection performance for an occupant by rapidly and surely deploying an airbag body in a protection area behind a head rest. SOLUTION: The airbag body 30 deploying between the head rest 40 and a back window glass 20 is stored in the upper part of the back surface side of a seat back 26, and the head rest 40 is attached to a seat back upper frame 34 swingably supported. The seat back upper frame 34 is provided with a pressure receiving plate 96 pressed and forwardly inclining the seat back upper frame 34 when the airbag body 30 is inflated. When the airbag body 30 is supplied with gas and inflated, the seat back upper frame 34 is forwardly inclined and the head rest 40 is moved forward. Thereby, a space T between the upper part of the head rest 40 and the back window glass 20 is widened, and the airbag body 30 can rapidly and surely be deployed in the protection area 64 behind the head rest.     • PURPOSE:To expand an air bag cover without delaying an air bag by providing such a constitution as never working a large load to the center part of the air bag cover, and effectively transmitting the load generated at the time of expansion of the air bag to the locking part of the air bag cover to easily break the locking part. CONSTITUTION:At the time of a vehicle collision, a gas is generated from an inflator 6, and an air bag 5 starts to expand. At this time, as the upper part of a projecting opening 9 is shielded by an expansion regulating member 3, the air bag 5 is expanded in the lower part of the projecting opening 9, or near the locking member 4 of an air bag cover 1. The load generated at the time of expansion of the air bag 5 significantly works to the vicinity of the locking member 4, whereby the locking member 4 is easily broken. The center part of the air bag 5 is prevented from being deformed by the load. Thus, the air bag 1 is immediately expanded with a hinge part 7 as the axis. Thereafter, the expansion regulating member 3 is broken from a scored part, and the air bag 5 is expanded to restrict a passenger on the assistant driver's seat.
