摘要： PURPOSE:To facilitate mounting operation for mounting a tool onto a tool holding body side by providing a tool inserting portion in the tip end portion of a slide member, and as well disposing in the tool holding body a temporary tool fixing mechanism portion having an engaging member, an energizing member and a pressing member. CONSTITUTION:With a tool inserted into the tool inserting portion 35 of a slide member 29 disposed in an arbor portion (a tool holding body) 22, the pressing member 46 of a temporary tool fixing mechanism portion 43 presses an engaging member 44 against a spring (energizing member) 45 so as to engage a tool main body 21 on the slide member 29 side in the arbor portion 22 and temporarily fix it on the arbor portion 22 side. And further, under this temporarily fixed state, a stud on a machine tool main body side pulls the rear end portion of the slide member 29 in the arbor portion 22 to a predetermined engaging position so as to connect the tool main body 21 held by the arbor portion 22 detachably onto the spindle side of the machine tool main body. Thus, by the use of the pulling force of a pull stud, the tool is firmly fixed on the spindle side of the machine tool main body. Therefore, even a large- diameter tool with high cutting resistance can be disposed.

摘要： PURPOSE:To make an insertion amount accurate by forming locating connection surfaces on a connection of an inserting portion of a blade edge tool body and an insertion hole of a base tool body and providing an engaging member removably attached to the blade edge tool body on the base tool body to be engaged therewith on the connection surface position. CONSTITUTION:A locating connection surface 37 is formed along the direction orthogonal to the direction of inserting a blade edge tool body 22 in a connection of an inserting portion 34 of said body 22 and an insertion hole 28 of a base tool body 21. Also, said body 21 is provided with an engaging ball 47 removably engaged with a carrier section 32 of an inserting section 34 of said body 22. When said body 22 is inserted to abut against said surface 37, the ball 47 is press fitted in the carrier section 32 by an operation of a clamper 44 to maintain fixedly an insertion amount. When released, the ball 47 is released from press fitting by the operation of clamp 44 so that said body 22 can be removed.

摘要： PURPOSE:To prevent manufacturing error by reading the bar codes on the bar code labels attached on modular tools and supplying accurately selected one of the tools to a machine tool. CONSTITUTION:The tool request signal ST if sent to an assembly controller 15 from the NC controller 14 of a NC machine tool 13. Said assembly controller 15 sends an assembly command to an operator according to the requested signal and simultaneously sends the tool code signal SC to a decision circuit 16. And said circuit 16 compares the specified tool code with the tool data on the bar code label 6 attached on the adaptor module 2 of the actually assembled modular tool. When the circuit 16 decides the coincidence of data of those codes, the modular tool is transferred to a tool magazine 9, whereby accurate supply of the specified modular tools to the NC machine tool 13.

Since a conventional conveying mechanism to move a tool exchange arm for a comparatively long distance can be eliminated, the size of a whole automatic tool exchange device can be reduced, and even if a precision machine is small, it can be easily mounted.

The old tool head is removed from the tool holder held with a tool holding mechanism 53, and a new tool head 7 is mounted on the tool holder.
