    • PURPOSE:To improve the efficiency of a work of applying a lining material on the inner surface of a high structure, e.g., high chimneys, high iron towers, and to ensure a lining applied surface of high quality, by a method wherein a titled device has function to automatically spray a lining material and function to automatically measure a lining thickness. CONSTITUTION:A gondola device 1, serving as a cradle, is suspended and hoisted up and down within an object 2, e.g., the cylinder body of a high chimney, by means of a suspension rope 3. Circular track rails 7 are installed on the gondola device 1, and an automatic lining device 8, adapted to elevate, move forward and backward, incline, and oscillate a lining material spray nozzle 24, is placed on the rails 7. Running of the device 8 on the rails 7 results in movement of the nozzle 24 along the inner wall surface of the object 2. Through utilization of a distance detector 26, attached to the nozzle 24 and measuring a distance between the nozzle and the lining-applying part of the inner wall surface of the object 2, and a distance detector 27 for comparing reference disposed at a portion except for the nozzle part 24 part, based on the distance measuring date of the distance detector 27, measuring data is compared, and computed and processed to determine a measuring position and a substantial lining thickness in said spot.

    • PURPOSE:To obtain a new surface treatment technique capable of securing uniformity of a plated film, facilitating finishing process and accomplishing low-pollution surface treatment in lieu of Cr plating, in the case of the surface treatment method on a piston sliding surface of an aluminum alloy made engine cylinder and the product thereof. CONSTITUTION:A plated film 1 laid on the piston sliding surface of a base material 2a of an aluminum alloy die cast made engine cylinder is subjected to pretreatment such as degreasing and zinc immersion on its base material 2a, after which electroless Ni-P plating is executed in the thickness of approximately 1mum and further electroless Ni-B plating is executed thereon in the thickness of approximately 20mum. Thereafter the plated layer is abrased by the thickness of approximately 5mum by means of honing so as to make it to be in the specified finishing process position 3 and finish it to have the plate film remaining thickness of approximately 15mum. Uniformity of the film is ensured by the application of the electroless plating method and this method is excel in low-pollution surface treatment technique by eliminating the defect that the conventional Cr plating method becomes the cause of pollution because a hexavalent chrome is used.

    • PURPOSE:To purify exhaust gas and to reduce flow noise by making the inside of the tail pipe of an exhaust silencer for a general purpose engine into a honeycomb structure body provided with a lot of fine passages and carrying an exhaust gas purifying catalyst in the structure body. CONSTITUTION:A partition plate 5 divides the inside of an exhaust silencer main body 1 into the first expansion chamber 3 and the second expansion chamber 4. Small holes 6 are opened in the partition plate 5. Small holes of an inlet pipe 7 are opened into the first expansion chamber 3. A tail pipe 8 is formed into a honeycomb structure with its inlet side opened into the inside of the second expansion chamber 4 and its outlet side opened into the atmospheric air side. A catalyst 10 is carried on the inner walls of fine passages inside of the tale pipe 8. Exhaust gas emitted from a general purpose engine flows from the inlet pipe 7 into the first expansion chamber 3, then into the second expansion chamber 4, and passes the catalyst 10 while making control with it. The catalyst 10 is equipped with the purifying action and streamlining action at the same time against exhaust gas. In this way, flow noise is reduced and pollution-free gas is emitted into the atmospheric air.

    • PURPOSE:To provide a means to perform highly accurate machining of a narrow groove by rotating a disc shaped electrode and a work and making an electric discharge machining and feeding the electrode with a feed rate corrected for the electrode consumption. CONSTITUTION:A cylindrical work 34 is rotatably attached in a machining fluid 9 and is rotated by a motor 27 while a disc shaped electrode 10 is rotatably attached to an electrode atachment base 12 of a machining head 6 and is rotated by a motor 15. The electrode 10 is fed in the direction Z for machining and at the same time a pulse voltage is applied thereto to perform the electric discharge machining. The amount of reduction in the radius of the electrode 10 due to the consumption of the electrode is detected by a non-contact displacement meter 36 and the feeding for the machining in the direction Z is corrected by the signal from said meter 36 thereby enabling highly accurate machining of a narrow groove both in the groom width and the groove depth.

    • PURPOSE:To remove unblance weight precisely by calculating the unbalance position and unbalance weight of a thin hollow body of revolution by a balancing inspection device, and by polishing the body by an extent equivalent to the unbalance weitht. CONSTITUTION:A polishing work depth detector 20 is provided to a swing arm 18 as shown in the figure, and has a measuring means of measuring work depth automatically after polishing word by a polishing means. When target work depth which corresponds to a set frequency N of polishing does not reach set work depth owing to the clogging of an abrasive cloth wheel 13, a frequency N' of polishing which corresponds to the remaining work depth is set on the basis of polishing characteristics, and the polishing work is performed again by the abrasive cloth wheel 13 as much as weight equivalent to prescribed unbalance weight detected by a balancing inspection device. Thus, the unbalance weight is removed precisely.
