摘要： PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cover for reducing noise which can suppress the aerodynamic noise occurring from a current collector without affecting the current collecting performance. SOLUTION: An air current A flowing along the topside of the roof of the car body is divided at the tip of a plate member 5 into an air current B to flow above the topside 5a, and an air current C to flow in the direction of the roof 10 of the car body. Since the topside 5a is parallel with the roof face of the car body, the sectional area of the passage does not become small, so the air current B flowing on the topside does not increase its flow velocity. Then, a part of the air current flowing along the topside 5a is discharged rearward from the mesh structure of the inwall 5b, passing through the mesh of the topside 5a. If the topside is plate-shaped, a vortex separated from the air current at the end hits upon the current collector 2, which causes the occurrence of noise. According to this cover 1, however, an air current having passed the mesh structure reaches a section where such a vertex arises, so this can suppress the occurrence of a vortex, and can reduce the noise.

SOLUTION: Before and behind the current collector 2, there are disposed windbreak walls 5, whose top surfaces correspond to a longitudinal cross section of a car body and constitute plane parts parallel to a roof surface, and which are formed so that the thickness of an end on the other side of the current collector 2 can be reduced gradually; a sound insulating wall 6, which forms a curved surface made convex downward, is provided in such a manner as to overhang a side surface, in the width direction of the car body, of the wall 5 in order to continue in the longitudinal direction of the car body, and in such a manner that an under surface thereof gets close to a top surface of a plane member at an end in the longitudinal direction of the car body and gets close to the roof surface of the car body in a central part in the longitudinal direction. A leg part 7 is provided, in such a manner as to be located below the walls 5 and 6 so as to support the walls 5 and 6 on the roof 1 of the car body, and in such a manner as to be equipped with a wall surface, whose shape during projection to a horizontal surface is taken as an oval shape, such that an insulator 8 of the current collector 2 is contained in the inside. An under surface of a part, which serves as an outside of the leg part 7, of the wall 5 is formed to constitute a curved surface connected smoothly to an outer surface of the leg part 7 and the under surface of the wall 6.
