    • PURPOSE:To obtain the titled roller whose conductivity is uniform and which is not influenced by temperature, etc., by forming a surface layer by a conductive resin layer consisting of a conductive resin composite composed mainly of a dispersion being in a state that a 5-heterocyclic polymer has been dispersed uniformly in a thermoplastic resin matrix. CONSTITUTION:As for a conductive roller, a conductive resin layer 11 is formed directly or through an adhesive agent layer on the outside peripheral surface of, for instance, a metallic shaft 10. As for the conductive resin layer 11, for instance, in a solvent which can dissolve both a thermoplastic resin and a 5-heterocyclic polymer, the thermoplastic resin is dissolved first, and in its solution, a 5-heterocyclic compound is dissolved, and thereafter, by dropping an oxidizing agent, a resin liquid which has polymerized the 5-heterocyclic compound is made. Subsequently, the outside peripheral surface of the metallic shaft 10 is coated with this resin liquid and formed by dry coating. In such a way, the roller having an excellent characteristic, whose conductivity is uniform and also, which is not influenced by temperature and humidity is obtained.

    • PURPOSE:To provide the electrostatic charging roll capable of maintaining a smooth surface, lowering the vibration noise by the AC component of an electric field when the roll is brought into pressurized contact with a photosensitive body and forming a stable nip by providing a conductive elastic material layer which is not a foam on the outer periphery of a foam layer. CONSTITUTION:The foam layer 14 consisting of a conductive foam is provided on the outer periphery of a shaft body (arbor) 12 and the conductive elastic material layer 16 is provided on the outer periphery thereof, by which a base layer is formed. The outer periphery of the base layer is coated with a resistance control layer 18 and a protective layer 20 in this order. Conductive rubber compsns. and conductive thermoplastic elastomers formed by incorporating conductive powders and conductive fibers, such as metallic powder, carbon black and carbon fibers, into various kinds of rubber compsns. and thermoplastic elastomers are optimum as the material for forming the conductive elastic material layer 16. The thickness of the conductive elastic material layer 16 is preferably specified to 100 to 1200mum.

    • PURPOSE:To obtain the title compsn. with a stable electric resistance level which is not influenced by humidity, pressing, etc., and without surface staining caused by a conductive substance by compounding a perchlorate in a matrix which is a polymer compd. with an ether bond in the repeating unit. CONSTITUTION:0.1-50 pts.wt. perchlorate (e.g. sodium perchlorate) is compounded in 100 pts.wt. matrix which are a polymer compd. with an ether bond in the repeating unit (e.g. a nylon-urethane copolymer resin). The perchlorate forms a complex ion with a chlorine atom constituting an ether bond and the complex dissociates into ions. Therefore, a uniform electric conductivity is imparted to the compsn. without the necessity for adding water. It causes neither bleedout of the conductive substance nor surface staining and exhibits excellent electrical strength and durability. Therefore, when surface layers of an electrically charged roll, a developing roll, toner transferring roll, etc., for electrophotography are formed, a printed pattern with excellent quality can always be obtd. without any influence of the atmosphere.

    • PURPOSE:To efficiently prepare a semiconductive roll having a stable electric resistance level by using a semiconductive polymer composition wherein a polymeric compound having an ether bond in the repeating unit thereof is used as a matrix and perchlorate is compounded with said matrix in a specific amount. CONSTITUTION:A semiconductive polymer composition wherein a polymeric compound having an ether bond in the repeating unit thereof is used as a matrix and perchlorate is contained in the matrix is used as a material for forming the semiconductive polymer layer 2 of a semiconductive roll. Perchlorate is compounded in an amount of 0.1 - 50pts.wt. per 100pts.wt. of the matrix component. Said polymer composition is prepared as a powdery mixture by sufficiently kneading perchlorate with the polymeric compound being the matrix component. A metal shaft body 1 is arranged to the recessed part 4 having a semicircular cross-section of a lower mold 6 and, after molds 5, 6 are clamped, the semiconductive polymer composition is injected in the molds 5, 6 under high pressure and this pressure is held for a predetermined time. The molds 5, 6 are cooled to solidify the polymer composition in the molds and the semiconductive roll is obtained. No perchlorate is exuded from the semiconductive polymer composition in the molds at the time of injection molding and the inner peripheral surface of the molds are not contaminated.
