CONSTITUTION: The outer peripheral surface of a shaft body 12 is provided with a base layer 14 composed of an ion conductive elastic material having volume resistivity of 10 to 10 Ωcm and the outer peripheral surface of this base layer 14 is provided with an electrode layer 16 composed of an electron conductive synthetic resin material having volume resistivity of 10 Ωcm in the part exclusive of at least one end in the axial direction of the base layer 14, by which the parts not provided with the electrode layer 16 are formed over a prescribed length at least at one end in such axial direction. Further, the outer peripheral surfaces of the part provided with the electrode layer 16 and the parts not provided with the electrode layer 16 are provided with resistance control layers 18 and protective layers 20 from the inner side to the outer side of the diametral direction of the roll.

    • PURPOSE:To accurately measure the contact pressure between a rotary roll and a blade member by branching a branch plate from an intermediate part of one surface of a substrate at a specific angle and arranging a thin plate type strain gauge on the branch part. CONSTITUTION:A two-branched sensor 6 when interposed between, for example, a developing roll 2 which rotates as shown by an arrow and the blade member 1 pressed against the roll 2 has the two-branched parts pressed in accordance with the contact force of the blade member 1 to deflect along the outer periphery of the roll 2. Then the strain gauge 10 is stuck on the reverse surface of the bending sectional shape part, formed of the tip part of the substrate 7 and the tip part of the branch plate 8, along the bending shape. When the strain gauge 10 deforms, the resistance value of a resistance wire varies and is transmitted to a measuring equipment through a conductor and indicated as a voltage value. Consequently, even when the radius of curvature of the roll 2 becomes large, the strain gauge 10 deforms greatly to improve the measurement sensitivity.

    • PURPOSE: To provide a method for simply manufacturing an electrifying roll, which can stably display excellent leakage resistance, without being subjected to special processing course. CONSTITUTION: A cylindrical mold having a molding cavity, the inner diameter of both the axial end parts at the part for forming electrically conductive base layer and surface smooth layer thereof of which becomes gradually smaller, is used so as to arrange a mandrel in the molding cavity. After green solid rubber tube, which is to form the electrically conductive base layer, is externally installed onto the mandrel and further resin tube, which is to form the surface smooth layer, is externally installed on the green solid rubber tube, the electrically conductive base layer and the surface smooth layer are integrally and laminatingly formed so as to have the external shape corresponding to the shape of the molding cavity on the outer peripheral surface of the mandrel through the application of vulcanizing molding operation and foaming molding operation of the green solid rubber tube. Further, after that, at least electrically semi-conductive covering layer is formed on the outer peripheral surface of the surface smooth layer.
