    • PURPOSE:To effectively utilize an energy for concentration by a method wherein an anti-freeze liquid for heat collection is concentrated by freezing the water content of a low temperature heat source anti-freeze on the surface of a heat exchanger of a heat pump for concentrating anti-freeze liquid for taking-up heat, and at the same time, a fluid for condensation is used by circulating as a heat source on the vaporization side of another heat pump. CONSTITUTION:In order to concentrate an anti-freeze liquid 3 of which the concentration has reduced, a heat pump 7 for anti-freeze concentration is provided. This heat pump 7 has a capability to collect heat at a lower temperature than a heat pump 5. A heat-exchanger 8 on the vaporization side of the heat pump 7 is provided in a processing tank 9 which communicates with a heat accumulating tank 4, and by cooling an anti-freeze liquid 3 by bringing it into contact with the heat-exchanger 8, a moisture in the anti-freeze 3 freezes on the surface of the heat-exchanger 8, and the anti-freeze liquid 3 is concentrated. Heat which is obtained on the condensation side of the heat pump 7 is used as a heat source 6 on the vaporization side of the heat pump 5. By this method, an energy for concentration can be effectively utilized.

    • PURPOSE: To heighten the melting efficiency of fallen snow, by a method wherein a heat-generating wire is arranged in zigzag shape and a heat-generating unit in which a range with a small pitch of zigzagging and a range with the large pitch thereof are alternately arranged is embedded under the surface of a road. CONSTITUTION: In an installation for melting fallen snow on a road, in which installation a heat-generating unit formed by arranging a heat-generating wire 3 is embedded under the surface of the road, an electric current is applied to the heat-generating wire 3, and the fallen snow is allowed to melt, the heat-generating wire 3 is arranged in zigzag shape, and a range 4 in which the pitch of a zigzag is small and a range 5 in which the pitch thereof is large are alternately arranged. In the range 4, a heating value per unit area is relatively large and the fallen snow is allowed to melt completely. On the other hand, although a heating value per unit area is relatively small in the range 5, heat from the range 4 with the small pitch of zigzagging diffuses in the range 5. Therefore, the fallen snow becomes in the state of half-melting, is leveled down by pressure owing to the passage of vehicles, and is allowed to melt advantageously. In this way, the fallen snow at a wider area can be allowed to melt with the same capacity of a power equipment, and the melting efficiency of the fallen snow can be heightened.

    • PURPOSE:To operate a snow cover sensor without spoiling the function and the appearance of a road and surely by a method wherein the detection part of the snow cover sensor composed of a diffusion-type photoelectric sensor using a photoelectric switch is buried and installed in the road so as to be exposed on the surface of the road and reflected light from snow accumulated on the sensor is detected. CONSTITUTION:In a snow cover sensor 1, a diffusion-reflection-type photoelectric sensor 2 is protected, at its detection part, by an optical material 3 whose light-transmitting degree is high, it is buried in an interlocking block 4 whose material is the same as a paving material for a road. The snow cover sensor forms the same plane and is constituted as a paving material unit. The snow cover sensor 1 is used after it has been connected to a road heating apparatus provided with heat-generating sources B and to a power supply via a cable protective tube 5. The photoelectric sensor 2 uses a photoelectric switch, e.g. a small-sized cylinder photoelectric switch. Since reflected light from snow accumulated on the sensor 1 is detected, the operation of the sensor is not obstructed by covered snow and the sensor is operated surely.

    • PURPOSE:To smooth the falling of snow in a tank by self-weight of the snow by providing a constriction to a snow throwing port of the upper part of the snow-melting tank equipped with a heater to the bottom thereof to make small a throwing area, and preventing thrown snow from adhering to the internal wall of the tank. CONSTITUTION:A constriction 8 is provided to the upper part of circumferential wall of a snow-melting tank 2, and the area of a snow-throwing port makes smaller than the inside area of the snow-melting tank 2. Snow is thrown into the tank 2 through a grating 9 provided to an upper opening of the tank 2, thrown snow is heated by a heater 5 on the bottom thereof to change it into water, and snow into the tank 2 is subsequently lowered by self-weight of the snow. After the snow in the tank is melted, it is detected by a sensor 7, and power to the heater 5 is disconnected. Melt water is drained. According to the constitution, snow is not made to adhere to the inside wall of the tank, and the falling of snow can be made smoothly.
