摘要： PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain modified ink particles having satisfactory heat resistance, solvent resistance, resolution, and ink jet characteristics and capable of preventing the occurrence of pinholes, etc., by forming, on at least a part of the surfaces of ink particle bodies, a modified layer by depositing the vapor of a modifier on the surfaces of ink particle bodies being floating. SOLUTION: When the ink particle body 22 is hydrophilic like in the case of a color particle for a color filter of a liq. crystal panel, the modified layer 57 is pref. hydrophobic. When the ink particle body 22 is hydrophobic like in the case of a carbon black for a black matrix, the modified layer 57 pref. has a hydrophilicity, e.g. a hydrophilicity based on carboxy groups formed by the oxidation with nitric acid. The modified ink particles can be prepd. by floating ink particle bodies and depositing the vapor of a modifier onto the surfaces of the bodies to form a modified layer on the surfaces of the bodies. Thus, a color filter can be easily produced.

摘要： PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To divide a liquid crystal display device on picture element electrode and eliminate blindfold layer by adjacently connecting liquid crystal panels with each other on a line passing through picture element electrodes arrayed in the direction of line or row. SOLUTION: A picture element electrode 15 along a panel connection part is formed in a half of a picture element 14 of other part in size. Therefore, a sealing material brings a picture element 15 in contact with a common picture element 17, and is placed on an edge of a half picture element adjacent to a panel connection part. As a result, when both liquid crystal panels are connected with each other, two half picture elements form one picture element 14. Thus, such structure is made as the liquid crystal panels are adjacently connected with each other on a line passing through the picture element electrodes arrayed in a direction of line. Each half picture element 14, 15 is provided with a TFT 16 to obtain a same display characteristic as one picture element with one TFT other than panel connection part. Namely, since the picture electrodes 14, 15 for the half picture elements are driven by two times driving ability, it becomes unnecessary to provide (two times line width of a seal is needed) the liquid crystal panel connection part with a black matrix 5.

摘要： PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To eliminate defective display caused by alignment defect occurring on liquid crystal molecules between pixels electrodes. SOLUTION: When this device is configured so that pixel electrodes 6 formed on a thin film transistor(TFT) substrate 12 have a structure formed further on a planarization layer 9 formed on the TFT and the signal wiring, separation recessed groove 11 is formed on the flattened layer 9 between the pixel electrodes 6. Further, defective display is eliminated by aligning the molecules of the liquid crystal 3 in the area always orthogonal to the substrates 1, 2 by means of forming a vertical film 7 in the bottom of the separation recessed groove 11 and a substrate area opposed to the area.

摘要： PURPOSE:To obtain the liquid crystal display device which is structured so as to eliminate a display defect due to the breaking of a source bus line later. CONSTITUTION:The connection positions of input terminals 21 are made different among adjacent source bus lines 20 and auxiliary electric conductors 30 are superposed on both end parts of all the source bus lines in a crossing direction. If a line broken part 50 is formed on an optional source bus line 20a, the end part of the source bus line 20a on the opposite side from the input terminal and the intersection parts 40a for the auxiliary electric conductors 30, and the end parts of adjacent source bus lines 20b on the side where the input terminals 21 are connected and the intersection parts 40b for the auxiliary electric conductors 30 are irradiated with laser light. Consequently, both the source bus lines 20a and 20b are connected electrically to eliminate the display defect due to the breaking of the source bus line 20a.

This capacity is connected in series to the capacity which is formed by a gate wiring 22, a gate insulating film 27 and the first amorphous semiconductor film 28, therefore, the whole capacity in an intersection part X2 is reduced. In such a way, the driving load of a thin film transistor array can be reduced.
