    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce fuel consumption and emission of CO 2 without reducing cargo weight in a car carrying vessel. SOLUTION: The car carrying vessel includes: a plurality of solar energy generation panels 2; at least one diesel engine driving power generator 7; at least one diesel engine for power generation which drives the diesel engine driving power generator 7; a plurality of storage battery units 4 for storing electric power converted by the solar energy generation panels 2; and a power management device 3. The power management device 3 allows the diesel engine for power generation to operate under an optimum load constantly. When the electric power generated by the diesel engine driving power generator 7 is more than required in the vessel, the surplus electric power is stored in the storage battery units 4. When the electric power generated by the diesel engine driving power generator 7 is less than required in the vessel, the shortage of the electric power is compensated by the supply from the storage battery units 4.
