    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily and inexpensively provide base isolation to an existing building.
      SOLUTION: In positions of top faces of existing footing beams 3, the footing beams and an upper structure which is a building frame of a ground floor are separated. A flat plate 21 which is a floor structure of a bottom floor is newly provided in a lowermost part of the upper structure. A base isolation device 20 is interposed between the upper structure and the existing footing beams. A flat slab or a void slab can be adopted as the floor structure, and prestress can be introduced also. A whole of the upper structure is raised higher than before modification to secure a floor height of the lowest floor.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vibration-control reinforcing structure for an existing building, which avoids increase in the mass of the building, and does not reduce an effective space of the building.
      SOLUTION: In formation of the vibration-control reinforcing structure, slits are formed at boundaries between an existing wall 12 and columns on both sides of the same to isolate the former from the latter, and another slit 16 is formed at a boundary between the existing wall 12 and an upper-story beam 13 to isolate the former form the latter, to thereby make the existing wall 12 into an independent structure. Then a one-side upper edge of the existing wall 12 and a one-side lower edge of the upper-story beam 13 which are flush with each other, are diagonally cut away at 45 degrees in a longitudinal section to form a triangular notch 17, and after leveling formed slant surfaces 12a, 13a with mortar 18, a panel damper 11 is secured to the slant surfaces 12a, 13a by means of anchor bolts 19.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a foundation structure for a structure, which has good workability by virtue of a simple constitution, and which brings about an improvement in productivity and a reduction in cost by securing the degree of freedom of equipment piping and a double pit equipped with a manhole enabling the entrance/exit of an operator in maintenance.
      SOLUTION: This foundation structure 4 of the structure 1 comprises: a mat foundation 5 which directly transfers a load of an upper structure 3 to ground; and a connection member 6 which is arranged in a position wherein a column base part of a column 2 constituting the upper structure 3 is joined by a top surface of the mat foundation 5, and which is constructed so as to be integrated with the mat foundation 5. Though the connection member 6 makes the column base part of the column 2 and the mat foundation 5 joined together, stress of the column 2, which is associated with the occurrence of an earthquake etc., is smoothly transferred to the mat foundation 5. Thus, a footing beam is made unnecessary, so that one open space, which is as large as the base area of the upper structure 3, can be formed between the mat foundation 5 and a floor slab 3a, and the double pit 7 is formed in the open space.

In the execution of work for joining the reinforced concrete column and the steel-frame beam, after the column 1 is preconstructed in a state wherein only the base plate 8 is fixed to the surface of the joint part, the gusset plate 9 is welded to the base plate; after that, the web 2a of the steel-frame beam 2 is bolt-fastened to the gusset plate; and the flange 2b is welded to the base plate.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a safe and economical floating type base isolation structure.
      SOLUTION: This floating type base isolation structure includes a floating base isolation structure 1 arranged in a base isolation pit 2 and a liquid 4 stored therein. The liquid 4 is sealed in the base isolation pit 2 by a lower structure 1b constituting the floating base isolation structure 1 and a sealant 6 formed between the side wall of the lower structure 1b and the inner wall of the base isolation pit 2 and set so as to close the opening of the base isolation pit 2. In this floating type base isolation structure, in case of earthquake or the like, a horizontal force acts on the floating base isolation structure to horizontally move it within the base isolation pit 2. However, the liquid 4 causes no free motion because it is sealed in the base isolation pit 2. Therefore, the level of the liquid 4 is not varied between the lateral sides of the floating base isolation structure 1 in a certain direction to which the structure 1 horizontally moved, or the hydraulic pressure which acts on the lateral sides of the floating base isolation structure does not cause unbalance.
