    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a surface treated zinc base plated metallic material having excellent corrosion resistance and a method of manufacturing the surface treated zinc base plated metallic material.
      SOLUTION: The surface treated zinc base plated metallic material 10 is provided with a first coating film 2 on a zinc base plated layer 1. The first coating film 2 consists essentially of a multiple oxide of zinc, aluminum and magnesium and contains zinc in a metal state. The concentration of zinc in the metal state is increased in the first coating film 2 of the interface side between the first coating film 2 and the zinc base plated layer 1. The concentration of zinc constituting the multiple oxide is increased in the first coating film 2 of the interface side between the first coating film 2 and the zinc base plated layer 1. The concentration of aluminum constituting the multiple oxide is increased in the surface side of the first coating film 2.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To give excellent corrosion resistance and to enable the drastic improvement of continuous spotting property at the spot welding time by containing specific contents of alloy elements of one or more kind among a group composed of Co, Fe, Ni, Cr and specific contents of high polymer organic material into a plated film and enriching alloy element content on the film surface layer in a specific ratio to the inner part of the film. SOLUTION: A cold or hot-rolled steel sheet, aluminum or its alloy is used as plating base material. Electric current is conducted into an electroplating bath that the alloy element source of Co, etc., and the high polymer organic material of starch, etc., are added in zinc and the film containing 0.01-10% alloy element and 0-10% high polymer organic material is formed, and this stuck quntity is desirable to be 5-100 g/m2. The plated surface is dipped into acidic water solution having 1-4 pH to dissolve and remove Zn on the film surface and the alloy element content on the surface layer is enriched to >=3 times of this content in the inner part of the film. The hardened stable oxide layer is obtd. by heating in the oxygen-containing atmosphere after treatment to further improve the spot weldability.
