In this way, the infiltration of slag to the magnesia-chrome brick under vacuum is restrained, and the damage and erosion of this brick are reduced and the durability of the vacuum treating vessel can be improved.

In prior to a force feed of the monolithic refractory, the advance feed material for pump forced feed in an amount capable of filling piping with a length of 2 m or more is inserted in a forced feed pump or a pump outlet part. Consecutively, the monolithic refractory is forced-fed.
