SOLUTION: Impact buffer material 800 which consists of high polymer material is disposed on the side opposite to the surface of the head slider 604 opposed to the disk, and, thereby, amplitude and kinetic energy of the head slider at the time of occurrence of impact can be absorbed. Concretely, by adopting constitution of the impact buffer material which has gel material as a constitutional element, multilayer constitution which combines a receiving plate part 801 with an impact buffer part 802 and constitution which exhibits energy absorbing effect owing to a thin plate part, etc., and, further, constituting the device in such a manner that the impact buffer member is not brought into contact with gimbals which performs attitude control of the head slider, the possibility of the occurrence of damage of the disk and the head slider when the head slider is brought into contact and collision with the disk is reduced.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To measure a force acting in the vertical direction to a head slider in a dynamic load/unload system disk by providing a measurement control part. SOLUTION: The evaluation device has a disk 13 that is rotated and driven, a spindle motor 12 for rotating and driving the disk 13, a head support part 14 consisting of a head slider 14a and an elastic support member 14b, and a measurement control part 15. The measurement control part 15 has a movable part 15a that moves up and down, a sensor part 15b that is provided at the movable part 15a, a motor part 15c that drives the movable part 15a up and down, and a substrate 15d that is mounted to the movable part 15a. A thin plate 15d is provided between the surface of the disk 13 and an elastic support member 14b and at the same time lifts up the elastic support member 14b when it is driven up and down, thus measuring a force that is applied to the thin plate 15d using a sensor part 15b. Forces that are supplied to the elastic support member 14b and the head slider 14a are measured for a direction that is vertical to the surface of the disk 13.
