    • PURPOSE:To improve accuracy of a tracking control when the tracking is controlled with the use of a servo pattern of a sample format, by using the remaining pit arranged on the track center in the case a defect is generated in the pit for detecting a tracking error signal. CONSTITUTION:In an A/D conversion circuit 17, a reproduced signal is converted to a digital signal making a reference clock as the reference and outputted, and an incorporated counter is driven making the reproduced data and reference clock as the reference with the use of a timing generator 20 to output a latch pulse to latch circuits 21-23. A signal level of the reproduced signal is detected by the circuits 21-23 and stored in a ROM 19 through a digital signal processor 24, and this latched result is arithmetically processed to produce the tracking error signal. After that, this error signal is decomposed to the components of high and low ranges, and each of them is outputted to A/D conversion circuits 25, 26. Thus in the optical disk device 2, the driving circuits 12, 13 are operated in accordance with a frequency response characteristic of an object to be controlled, then the tracking control is ensured.

    • PURPOSE:To correct mechanical bias force such as recovery force by outputting the pulse period, being employed in the control of variation of time constant, while specifying the update period of control data, i.e., the sampling period, according to the length of the time constant. CONSTITUTION:A PWM signal generating circuit 10 is provided with a first PWM circuit 11 for outputting a first PWM signal in which the pulse period, being employed in the control of short variation of time constant, is equal to the update period of control data, i.e., the sampling period. On the other hand, a second PWM means, i.e., a second PWM circuit 12, for outputting a pulse signal having pulse period, being employed in the control of long time constant variation, sufficiently shorter than the sampling period and suppressing external force, e.g. recovery force, of a flexible board having electrical offsets is provided. A mixing circuit 13 performs addition based on signals being fed from the first and second PWM means.

    • PURPOSE:To enable servo control with high accuracy by controlling the speed of a spindle motor based on error between a count value sampling the output of a counter and a prescribed reference value according to either the rotation detecting output of the spindle motor or the regenerative output of sector pulses recorded on a disk at prescribed intervals. CONSTITUTION:A counter 9 counts a clock signal as a continuous value and in a stage when the rotation of a spindle motor 7 starts, the output of the counter 9 is sampled by the rotation detecting output of the spindle motor 7. In the state of sufficiently starting the rotation of the spindle motor 7 and making it stable, the output of the counter 9 is sampled according to the regenerative output of sector pulses recorded on a disk 1 at prescribed intervals. Next, difference between the outputs of the counter 9 at the timings of two adjacent samplings is calculated and based on error formed by comparing the difference of this count value with a reference count value, the rotating speed of the spindle motor 7 is controlled. Thus, servo control is enabled with high accuracy.
